Letter of Recommendation from Associate Dean
The BBMP Mural Project is an initiative that involves painting a staircase at the BBMP main office with a stunning mural depicting different aspects of Bangalore. This project was undertaken in preparation for Bangalore Design Week '22 and showcased the beauty of the city across all five floors of the building. BBMP, which stands for "Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike", is the main city authority responsible for the orderly development of Bangalore.
A major learning experience in managing stakeholder expectations and navigating bureaucratic processes. Through this project, our team gained valuable insights into the complexities of working with local government agencies and the importance of patience and persistence in bringing creative projects to fruition.
Despite the project obtaining all necessary permissions and approvals, delays and poor communication from the governing body led to the unfortunate scrapping of the entire project. This setback highlights the challenges of executing large-scale public art initiatives in urban settings.
